Kamal claims acquisition of simple majority in BA

QUETTA: The President of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) Mir Jam Kamal has said that their six party coalition has acquired 33 simple majority out of 50 members.
Addressing to a press conference here on Thursday, he said that their coalition partners have agreed that Speaker and Deputy Speaker would be from BAP, adding that they would also welcome if Muthahida Majlis e Amal wants to be a part of government. He, however, said that the number game for them is complete now and they would focus on eradicating corruption and ensure good governance in Balochistan. He said that the formula for ministries shall also be finalized soon.
The said that the six party coalition includes Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), PTI, Balochistan National Party (Awami), Awami National Party (ANP), Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) and Jamhoor Watan Party (JWP), adding that negotiations were also underway with BNP-M and MMA so that all the political parties could work jointly for addressing the issues of Balochistan.
He said that his own name had been proposed for joint parliamentary leader and that of Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo for Speaker Balochistan Assembly. He said that the purpose of his party and coalition was to rid the country of the corruption and address its governance issues, adding that his purpose was to ensure that politicians and bureaucrats served the masses and help in bringing the change.
Responding to a query, he said that further sittings would be held with the coalition parties in the coming days and the formula for ministeries shall be decided, adding that following legal advice, requisition for the session of the Assembly shall be called.
He said that deciding the new governor is the job of federal government; however, Balochistan government would give it opinion as a coalition partner. He said that members of all his party were on the same page and speculation about differences were based on whims not facts.
