Alauddin Marri takes oath as interim CM of Balochistan

QUETTA: Nominated by Election Commission of Pakistan after Government and opposition foiled to develop consensus on caretaker CM Balochistan, Alauddin Marri on Friday sworn in as seventh caretaker CM Balochistan.
The oath taking ceremony of new caretaker CM Balochistan Alauddin Marri was held in Governor House Balochistan on Friday eve where Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai took oath from newly nominated caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan.
Former CM Quddus Bizenjo, former MPAs Bureaucrats and government officials have attended the oath taking ceremony.
Alauddin Marri (39) is considered Balochistan’s veteran businessman hailed from Mastung City. He was named as Caretaker CM on Thursday by Election Commission of Pakistan after failed talks aimed Government and opposition to develop consensus on a unanimous name for caretaker CM Balochistan.
During his first meet with the press caretaker CM Balochistan vowed to lead the province towards fair and peaceful elections that is due on July 25th 2018,
“Though I have friendship and relations with political leaders in Balochistan but I am not affiliated with any political party or selected as caretaker CM for any political agenda.” Alauddin Marri said and vowed my two top priorities are to hold general election and provide peaceful environment to the voters.
Replying to query regarding his cabinet Mr. Marri said, I am not fond of establishing a large cabinet, as ECP named me being a young energetic Caretaker CM, my intentions are to form a short cabinet comprising on youth who can help to provide election relief to the people of Balochistan.
Talking on elections delay caretaker CM Balochistan said, though former Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti tabled a resolution seeking one month delay in elections which was approved by the house,
“I want political parties to go for election and the interim set up should be wrapped up quick after the elections, but his points are genuine because the temperature will be reached on 53 in some part of the province.” Marri said and added if election gets delay for 10 to 15 days it won’t destabilize country’ affairs.
Replying to a query regarding political parties’ concerns over delimitation Alla ud Din Marri said, even I am confused on delimitation while many candidates don’t the areas in their constituency,
“I urge Election Commission to define new delimitation and settle down its cases in honorable courts so the country could smoothly move towards elections.”
