FIA arrests eight for running Hundi and Hawala Business in Quetta


03/06/18   QUETTA BalochistanExpress: The Federal Investigation Agency on Saturday booked 08 for running illicit Hundi and Hawala Business in Quetta seizing 3.8 million including foreign currency.
Following direction from DG FIR Bashir Ahmed, the Federal Investigation Authority FIA’s banking circle headed by Director Balochistan Altaf Hussain launched an operation against accused running illicit Hundi Hawala Business in Quetta.
“During raids at Alamdar road and Choharmal road FIA arrest 08 persons involved in running Hundi and Hawala Business and confiscated rupees 3.8 million including foreign currency.” FIA officials said and added cases under violation of Foreign Exchange Regulation will lodge against arrestees.
The detained accused were identified as Ibrar, Muhammad Essa, Kamran Ali, Dawood, Bha ud Din, Abdul Qadeer, Waqil and Kleemullah and being investigated by FIA.
The Federal Investigation officials said, the arrestees were involved in sending and receiving money from Afghanistan, Iran, UEA, Australia and other European countries.
According to FIA the illegal business of Hundi and Hawala yearly harming national treasury with million with illicit money trade being also used by terrorist organizations.
