Establishment was not serious to hold talks with disgruntled Baloch leaders: Akhtar

QUETTA BalochistanExpress: The President Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal), Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal has said that his party would enter with full preparation in the upcoming general election and expressed the hope that Baloch people would not elect so-called Baloch parties who had given nothing more hen bodies and lawlessness to province.
He stated this while talking to reporters during his visit to Turbat. He expressed his serious concern over the law and order situation in the province and said that his party is disappointed over the deteriorating law and order situation and nobody is giving attention over the reasons of prevailing situation in the province.
He held establishment and militancy responsible for the worsening of law and order situation.
Sardar Mengal said that there is big deficit of trust between Baloch people and the state that was increasing with the passage of time due to discriminatory attitude of Islamabad towards Balochistan. He said, “There is dire need to give legitimate rights of Balochistan people and efforts should be made to remove distrust between state and Baloch people.”
The BNP-Mengal president said that establishment was not serious to hold talks with disgruntled Baloch leaders and not made any serious effort to initiate negotiations with them. He suggested that despite refusal from the other side the authorities concerned of the establishment should repeatedly offer them for initiating dialoged for resolving the Balochistan issue.
Government should go forward four steps if they (disgruntled Baloch leaders) go back two steps back from talks,” Sardar Mengal advised.
Referring upcoming general elections, Sardar Akhtar Mengal who is also ex-Chief Minister of Balochistan said that the people of Balochistan always faced pressures from the establishment and militancy. He said that the situation in Balochistan could improve if the people allowed deciding their own mandate in the general elections. “The central of our politics is a peaceful Balochistan and this dream would become true when the rights of Baloch people living on their soil would be granted with honesty,” Akhtar Jan said.
The BNP-Mengal Chief while referring CPEC, said, “We had expressed our apprehensions since long but other parties and establishment ignored over concerns.” He said that with influx of people from other areas of the country would change the demography of the area. He said that with changing demography of area the situation would be worsen.
Replying to a question, Sardar Mengal said that his part’s stance regarding Baloch people and Balochistan is very clear like mirror “we think peace and restoring law and order in Balochistan and entire country depends on stopping of denting due rights of the people,” he said. He said that permanent solution should be find out for long standing peace and order in the entire region.
