Woman sexually abused in police post, says DIG

QUETTA BalochistanExpress: Deputy Inspector General Police Nasirabad Range, Nazeer Ahmed Kurd has confirmed sexual abuse with a young woman in a police post by police officials in Dera Murad Jamali area.
Speaking at a Press Conference on Saturday, the DIG Kurd said that the medical report confirmed that the woman had sexual abused. He said that after medical report an Assistant Sub-Inspector Police (ASI) Ghulam Sarwar Gola, his gunman Muhammad Din and driver Nazeer Ahmed have arrested who had suspended soon after receiving report about the incident.
He said that they were booked under 376/200 PPc and a five member team of senior police officials headed by Circled police officer Khawind Bakhsh has been set up for investigation the incident. He said a police constable posted at Police post Uch Power plant also arrested for interrogation.
DIG Kurd said that the investigating team has recorded the statement of the victim woman Shazia Bibi, who had shifted Da-ul-Aman Quetta. “Fair and transparent investigation would be conducted in the rape case,” he said.
He revealed that Shazia Bibi who is resident of Bhag Tehsil of Bolan district come to Rabi Canal area of Nasirabad district to see her relatives but forget the address and went to the police post at Uch power plant for help. The police men deployed at the post informed the post In charge Ghulam Sarwar Gola who came at the post and took Shazia Bibi with him.
DIG Nazeer Kurd said that he forcibly raped her whole night and thrown away near district hospital in unconscious condition. She found the relatives after becoming conscious and reported the incident in Dera Murad Jamali Police station.
He said that all those involved in this inhuman act not be speared and would be brought to justice.
Meanwhile, large number of people to different organizations and civil society took out a protest rally against the incident. They marched on the main highway and other roads of Dera Murad Jamali and chanted slogans.
Speaking to the protestors, Ishad Mengal, Abdul Salam Bangulzai, Altaf Jattak, Haider Lehri and Yaqoob Lehri strongly condemned the inhuman act with the young woman in which police official found involved. They rejected the investigation team of police and expressed their apprehension that the team may be fevour their colleagues and prove the accused innocent.
They demanded that the investigation should hand over to the ty Crime branch for fair interrogation. They said that it is a tribal society and such shameful incident could not tolerate. They demanded Chief Justice of Pakistan, Chief of Army Staff and Inspector General Police to take notice of the incident.
